Technology to Support Safer Travel

GPS Assitive Technology tracking watch.
For people learning a new travel route or those at risk of wandering off and getting lost there's some clever technology that can help. For instance the tracking watch above can transmit the location of the wearer by text message and includes an SOS button with two-way mobile phone communication.

AT Dementia have a list of such devices (and other everyday living assistive technology), some of which can be rented. The Alzheimer's Society have some good points to consider when using such technology around the rights of the wearer.
