Geograph Britain and Ireland

The QE2 bridge from the river Thames.

The Geograph Britain and Ireland web-site (www.geograph.org.uk) is a brilliant "inclusive communication" resource. You can search on places near where you live or where you know, and turn up many photos.

A good place to start is by using your postcode. For instance:

Grays Base: RM17 6QA
Ockendon Base: RM15 5DX
Stanford Base: SS17 7ES
Tilbury Base: RM16 4JP

Other places to find photos include the superb Google Maps (enter your post code, then drag the little yellow man onto the street you want to look at). Flickr.com has an arty Love Thurrock group that's well worth a look. Both Geograph and Flickr encourage people to upload their own photos.
